Gymkhana

Gymkhana department came into existence in the year 1983. SSVPS’s COE gymkhana is an ideal cultural and sporting assembly for the students.

It is located at boys hostel campus upstairs of boys hostel mess for indoor games like Carom, Table-Tennis, Chess, Badminton etc. Volleyball and Basketball court are available next to the gymkhana.

The objective of the gymkhana is to foster team spirit and sportsmanship of the players, also to develop sporting activities among the students and enhance their fitness level to be healthy for day to day activity in life.

It aims to promote, organize and control intramural, intercollegiate, inter-zonal and such type tournaments of various games and sports as many be decided by the gymkhana sports committee hence it inculcate and enhance a sense of discipline in them.

Students participate every year in various tournaments at different levels in Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Football, Judo, Kho-Kho, Swimming, Table-Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball and Karate. We have secured winning or runner-up position in Football, Basketball, Chess and Table-Tennis over the years at various competetions and tournaments. Many players have been selected for Inter Group (Zonal) tournaments and to represent Inter University from time to time.

Since past 5 years around 300 players have participated into intercollegiate tournaments, 45 players are selected for Inter Group tournaments and around 20 players are represented Inter University tournaments in various games and sports.
